John Molinaro, PASenior Clinical Reviewer
John Molinaro is a member of the clinical staff at Washington & West, LLC. Mr. Molinaro is responsible for the clinical review of medical records to make determinations of medical necessity, determine the correct interpretation of events as presented by the documentation, present the patient’s clinical status and the treatment provided and its relation to standards of care, and to identify issues of compliance with state and federal regulations. Mr. Molinaro regularly testifies as an expert witness at Medicare and Medicaid Hearings and conducts research on special topics such as specific conditions, treatments, medical devices, drugs, and other key issues.
Before joining Washington & West, Mr. Molinaro served as a clinical physician assistant in emergency rooms, inpatient hospital units, intensive care units, outpatient family medicine, and outpatient adult internal medicine settings. Mr. Molinaro also held positions with Johns Hopkins Home Health Care and served as the clinical coordinator for the National Institute of Health-supported Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study (MACS) at Johns Hopkins University. Mr. Molinaro was involved in health policy as the regional coordinator of the Occupational Health Initiative for the National Health Service Corps and as Director of the Office of Occupational and Environmental Medicine for the New Jersey Department of Health.
Mr. Molinaro obtained a bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin and his physician assistant degree from Johns Hopkins University. He also founded and served as principal and CEO of his own consulting firm which assisted state and federal agencies and clients with issues of compliance with health-related regulations.
